The course provides practical insight into the development of creating a meaningful Asset Management Strategy (also known as a Strategic Asset Management Plan or SAMP), including alignment with organizational objectives and engagement of the workforce, goal-setting, prioritization, risk management, performance monitoring and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

This course is for those wishing to understand how to interpret and apply a management system conforming to ISO 55001 in their business.
Summary content:
- A brief introduction to ISO 55001 and management systems.
- Introduces the concept of the ‘corporate journey’.
- Using ‘asset management system’ as a framework for applying good practice.
- Practical guidance on how to develop practical solutions for applying asset management in your business.
Candidates will be provided with a copy of The IAM System Application Guide which was developed by a cross-organizational team of experienced practitioners from multiple organizations and provides detailed support and further reading (more than 100 pages).

12 & 13 February 2025 - 14:00 GMT - 18:00 GMT
This workshop will provide an overview of why value is essential in decision-making. Delegates will learn how to identify the value criteria that matter most to their organization and discover how to construct a Value Framework to assess and prioritize projects for maximum value realization.
An interactive session, the ‘Copperleaf Optimisation Game’, will be utilized to provide participants with hands-on experience in applying Value-Based Decision-Making principles to achieve concrete results.

This professional development course is designed to help practitioners evaluate the risks associated with extreme weather events and the uncertainties of future climate conditions for both built and natural assets. Participants can expect to gain the following:
Principles of Climate Risk Assessments:
Learn the foundational principles of assessing climate risks within the context of life-cycle analysis for the built environment.
Historical and Future Climate Trends:
Enhance your knowledge of past climate trends and future climate projections, including their limitations, data availability, and application in risk assessments.
Risk Management Principles:
Develop a better understanding of risk management methodologies as they relate specifically to climate risks.
Tools and Standards:
Acquire knowledge of various tools, guidelines, and standards that are pertinent to conducting climate risk assessments for infrastructure and facilities.

This course will provide an overview of asset management maturity assessment tools and uses, will cover real-world examples of evaluating asset management maturity and utilize a gap assessment to develop actionable strategies to advance.
An asset management self-assessment and other exercises will be utilized throughout the workshop to provide attendees with practical, ready-to-use ideas and practices they can take back to their organization to advance their asset management practices and outcomes from any state of maturity.

- Asset management maturity assessment tools and their uses based on the IAM’s 10-box Conceptual Model of Asset Management including case studies. illustrating how organizations have used maturity assessments for advancement
- How to assess your organization’s maturity up to and beyond ISO55001 compliance and identify opportunities to develop your organization’s capabilities by completing a high-level self-assessment of your organization’s current and desired asset management maturity.
- How to use an asset management system as a structure for developing your organization’s asset management maturity and achieving excellence.
- How to scope and develop an asset management improvement program through interactive exercises and group discussions using assessment outcomes to develop specific actions and strategies you can take to advance your organization’s asset management maturity.
- How to quantify the business case for improvement.
- Approaches for preparing your organization and resourcing the changes.
- Practical advice on delivering and monitoring the effectiveness of the asset management improvement program.
- How to sustain a standard of excellence – with continual improvement.
